About Us - Our Story

Not My Addiction was born from a place of pain, resilience, and hope. We are a nonprofit dedicated to supporting youth impacted by a parent's addiction. Our founder, Tisha Gonzalez knows firsthand the silent and battles many young people face when addiction lives in their home. She created Not My Addiction to be the safe space she wished she had- on where young people are seen, heard, and empowered to rise above the chaos they didn't create.

We believe that children should never carry the weight of their parents' choices. Our name is our truth: Not My Addiction. Through community, mentorship, advocacy, and creative expression, we help youth reclaim their stories and rewrite their futures.

Our programs- from safe space healing circles to youth-let podcasts and leadership councils - are built to restore identity, build confidence, and break generational cycles. Every child deserves to know they are more than what they've been through.

At Not My Addiction, we don't just support healing - we build belonging.

Mission

Not My Addiction is a safe haven for children and teens impacted by a parent's addiction.
We offer a loving,
nurturing space where young people are supported emotionally, mentally, and socially
through mentorship,
education, and empowerment. Our mission is to break generational cycles of addiction by
helping youth build
self-worth, resilience, and a future full of possibilities.

Vision

A world where no child feels forgotten because of a parent's addiction - where every young
person knows they are valued, supported, and capable of building a healthy, hope-filled
life.
